The Wolf 03:02
The Wolf It seems the wolf has returned Howl it out and see who turns You gnash your teeth and fall in line When you blink, he’ll rob you blind Mark your tracks. When you are gone… Move by night. Asleep by dawn It’s all the signs that multiply… all the risks For them, it’s do or die. Yeah...they don’t know why The truth, they will hide Yeah… he lets out a cry Yet his eyes remain dry “Oh no...!” He barks out at the crowd You can’t tell them apart Meanwhile, the wolf walks away and smiles Oooo... the wolf dances on make believe He screams out, taps out, ignores defeat Is this who we sought to be? It’s time to question his authority It’s time to question all we see Must be together for it to be It seems the wolf has bestowed Lines of debt he will not owe To all of those who bought his lies Turned your heads, ignored their crimes The dreams of few ignore you too Can’t accept their reasons why It’s all the times he promised you Only it was for him and not for you Yeah… time to say bye The truth you can’t deny Yeah… flames lit up the sky The wolf slips out of sight Hell no, we cannot let this go The wolf will return...

Down River 03:18
Down River Central to the theme. it’s bigger than you and me Comes on like a storm. Can’t have it here no more Color aint gonna show Nothing you don’t know. Look into your mind And feel it in your soul. I see it coming on it’s gone on far too long They’re chanting on the lawn That someday you’ll be gone I guess I would if I could. Does it mean I should? Doesn’t Mean I would. Out Loud, for now. Last chance, get out I will expose Logic you don’t know It's better than before Empathy at the core The world turns as it should It wouldn’t stop if you could It wouldn’t do any good Chill out, step out Silence for now Hold on tight. You’re going down river. Never do no harm. Life moves us down river. I would if I could.

Ode to the Sun A new day started after it was done Complicated for which side won War of ideas the last one sung A lasting sting yet no bee stung The clouds moved over The rains had begun It’s an Ode to the Sun Rise up for all Expect so much from me It’s an Ode to the Sun It’s shining bright on me The west wind blows the sand between your toes Alive… this is how life goes A wave overcomes No longer bite your tongue Inside… so the fight goes on… And on… and on The fire burns bright from dusk till dawn Soon I’m falling then you’ll be fast asleep In your dreams I’m crawling on my knees The moon is hiding the wide world from me Association, gravitate the sea It’s an Ode to the Sun It’s shining bright on me

Feel So Inclined Hello. Heard it right. That’s what I said. Tomorrow. Another day. It's in my head. Doors open and they close. I have no fear. Backwards. Left and Right. Bearings are clear. A chance to make things right. Gotta go out. Harness the light. I feel so, feel so inclined. Throw it away. Is easy to say. And you will. Remember next time. Who, when, and why. Close your eyes. Fall to the ground. Be homeward bound. And reside. All be forewarned. Allegiance is sworn. And you’re born. Comeback in a dream. A bit too obscene. Altered frame of mind. You are asleep. It's time for patience inside. Gonna go out. Earn the right. I feel so, feel so inclined.

Go Home 04:11
Go Home Lost track of my thoughts again Its something I just can’t find Lost eyes have been wondering Please turn on the light Go… Home… live life for your own Accept what’s in front of you Quell all attitude And love I got lost in a photograph It meant the world to me Lemonade, air conditioning Yeah, I am living free Go… Home… live life on your own Soon you’ll find first is last Consider learning from the past And grow Take a look at your own hands Do they meet your demands? Is there something I should say? It can’t be the other way Be… Come… a better man on your own Go hide best you can Avoid all hate and sin And go home, go home, go I need somebody To feel warm Like everybody Yeah

Little World 03:34
Little World Rampant run on the socialite Expecting everyone just to throw down and fight In simplest of terms, I do not concur I can not. I shall not. I will not endure. Gone, gone, gone, so long. So, I’m heading out. And I’ll be home soon. We’re not ruling out. A return debut. You’re chasing the lies. Yeah. You don’t realize. Yeah. Your frame of mind. Yeah. With the Devil inside. You’ve lost control of your little world. How empty is your little world. Wrong, you’re wrong, so wrong. We’re not throwing out. Hope too soon. We’re not ruling out. Your repentance too. We’re waving the flies. Yeah. Can’t hide your eyes. Yeah. A common disguise. Yeah.

Litho Stone 03:27
Litho Stone Crowded stage as the lights are dimming Slip, tumble, and fall Mother’s focus with love and devotion Stand up when you are called The bond was broken but your heart is open Fill it with all that you love Ohh… Stone rolls on its own Ohh…. Skips on water when thrown Come together now… Yeah… It’s expected now… Yeah… On invisible thrones Ain’t no misanthrope Weathered by the storms Ripped and torn Covered in thorns Then smiles some more Litho Stone was built to endure Litho Stone just like before It’s six in the morning and my eyes are closing Mind, body, and soul The tracks are going in both directions The stars will guide me back home

Fade Away 04:30
Fade Away Oh. They call me a sinner. They say I hate my fellow brother. That I can't stand for another. To question my moral standard. Can you believe it? They won’t believe it. Push me around until I fall back down. It took me a while but I found the ground. Silently be the one who's free. And don't blame me. Oh. I'm no beginner. You? You're one in a million. We are specks of dust under the ocean. Collection on the floor, start of a mountain. I'll crack a smile, tooth to grin. Nod my head, no wavering. That's my cue. Goodbye to you. Time to fade away.

Midnight Stroll I’ve been following The last blowing wind I find myself Lost and wandering I don’t need anyone To tell me I have sinned I’ve been walking With these splintered shins I’m on a roll On a Midnight Stroll You think it's easy To stand and grow old This time I’m calling It's time to be told Life ain't nothing When you feel this cold I’ve reached the depths I have regrets Ruled by numbers Some of them too big Light surrounds me So I don’t go blind Using my eyes To express what's inside I’m on a roll On a Midnight Stroll You think it's easy To stand and grow old This time I’m calling It’s time to be told Life ain't nothing When you feel this cold I’m on a roll On a Midnight Stroll I’m on a roll On a Midnight Stroll

The Forest 04:21
The Forest Calling all reinforcements I need favor today We’ve moved too far, too far away I think it’s time to clear the slate Come on, hey hey. Your heat is rising. Come on, hey hey. Your demons are flying. Expect checkmate. The pons are dying. The king is on the run. He’s staying silent. The queen is on her own. Not even trying. The jester is on the beat. Calls out the liars. The crowd jumps to their feet. Times are getting dire. Come on, hey hey. What should I do? When I’m all alone with you? What should I say? To make all that is wrong go away? When darkness falls and you’re awake. And your head needs to clear some space. You find yourself so far away. I think it’s time to seize the day. When you’re this deep in The Forest.

Free As Me 05:05
You are Free I feel the silence start to drift and grow As the people start to come and go We tell ourselves that it's alright Like a meteor across the sky For all the reasons I don’t even know Trip and fall on your big toe Down in a hole you lie I’m wrong. You’re right. Open up inside Breath deep and sigh From the moment your body starts to fall asleep To the time when your mind starts to move downstream Anything is possible in your dreams You are free. All the possibilities I have missed I’ve returned with a tighter fist I’ll make promises I will hold The last thing I want to do is bend and fold Not alone Truth be told You’ll see I’m wrong, you’re right Standing up tonight It's gone. So bright. From the moment your body starts to fall asleep To the time when your mind starts to move downstream Anything is possible in your dreams You are free. You’re free You’re free Free as me

about

Brian O'Connor returns with his 2021 sophomore solo effort "Gods But For The Wisdom" since his first solo album in 2019 "Somewhere in the Sequence" proving that guitar music is alive and well.

Brian's music is a return to basement and garage rock. The album showcases a swirling mix of fuzz and acoustic guitars combining into deep layered melodies.

The songs often blend the feeling of grunge angst with grounded softer folk styling. As if Badmotorfinger had fallen into a blender with Harvest Moon, the melodies are creatively enhanced with the mixture of powerful rock and comforting harmonies. The songs often take you on journeys that aren't afraid of altering intensities and volumes.

Brian is also a member of the Portland rock band West of Central along side Trey Stockard and Von Kairos featuring their 2018 release "Tipped with the Tide".
